Came across this excellent video on Performance vs Trust by Simon Sinek..How relevant is this in our corporate world that we have all the tools and data to measure performance and nothing to measure Trust..What would you go for - Performance or Trust.. depends upon the role of course, however a difficult choice always. I tend to see lot of varied distribution between what leaders choose for.. however if I was to be given a choice, I will not choose for one and go blind on the other side, will go for a balanced hybrid stance between the two.. clearly people who are not trustworthy are out of list as a pre-qualifier. This view kind of correlates with an industry trend of External Hiring through the Network and Connects since then one doesn’t go blind on both.Your comments ?

Who all remembered the incident of US Airways flight crash landing into Hudson River in Jan 2009. As part of weekend binge watching, saw ‘Captain Sully’ yet again, seems to be one of my favourites. Some of the key leadership lessons got reiterated while watching the movie:1. During crisis time, Leader takes charge: Remember the first phrase from Tom Hanks post Birds hit “My Flight”2. Sharing the credit of the success with the teams: Post the hearing outcome and Tom Hanks declared a Hero, his words “we all did this together, first officer, crew, NYC rescue personnel etc3. Asking the right questions, challenging the status quo: During the hearing when simulations and statistics were against the pilots, Tom Hanks asked the right Qs, how many times have the sumulators practiced this simulation and answer came back: 17. Second, asking to add the human element of handling the situation real time, no training covers that.4. Ownership and commitment: handling such unprecedented situation himself, Pilot shown to display accountability of each and every life. Dialogue from the film “give me count of 155”5. Good with statistics and numbers: when the jury agreed to add 35 secs for human reaction to the situation, first officer questioned whether that was enough. Remember the data based judgement of the Pilot: on flight back of 208 secs, I will take 35.6. Last but not the least, Remaining calm during the whole situation not only during the incident however even through the post-mortem phase. Neither getting excited by seen as a Hero nor being nervous and angry while been overwhelmed. #leadership #success #data #training #film #leader

Came across this amazing video.. very intriguing and thought provoking.. In today’s world, we are so much focused to be financially independent however the level of awareness towards having the right financial acumen is majorly gender biased. #FinancialEquality#FinanceandGender

Have seen very touching Ads at Diwali times, however this is at a different level.. imagine what an amazing job done if viewers have goosebumps.. Learning:1. Personal connection means the best, nothing better than delivering wishes in person2. Never forget Humanity.. there’s a bigger and better world.. always remember those who came out to help in tough times..3. Teachings to the next generation.. these personal emotions and acts doesn’t come naturally to them, need to be embibed by our own actions
